Most modern batteries (like LiFePO4) are warrantied for 10 years with 80% capacity guarantee. Many last 15-20+ years depending on usage. The system itself (inverter, BMS) may outlast the battery pack.
Yes! Most solar systems are designed to accept battery upgrades. We'll ensure your initial installation is battery-compatible so you can add it anytime. Retrofitting is usually straightforward and less expensive than adding it upfront.
When the grid goes down, your inverter automatically disconnects and the battery takes over. You'll have power to your home (usually 80-90% of loads depending on battery size). Essentials like lights, fridge, and critical devices continue running.
We use advanced 3D modelling to assess your roof's shape, sunlight exposure, tilt and shading, so the system is tailored to your home for maximum performance. We combine that 3D shading data with over 10 years of local weather data to estimate how much energy your system will generate across a typical year. Every design is created by an SAA-accredited system designer to ensure accuracy, compliance and long-term reliability.
Our installer visits the property to finalise the system details. For solar, they check roof access, cable paths, switchboard condition, Wi-Fi signal and confirm the system design. For batteries, they plan safe placement and transport and check whether any extra safety measures are needed. If anything materially changes the quote, we update it and send it to you for approval before any work goes ahead.
Our accredited installer carries out safety checks and begins the installation. Your electricity will be off for about an hour during the work. Once installed, the system is tested, and in Victoria an inspector reviews it before activation; in other states it may be switched on right after testing. Please have pets secured, and Victorian customers should have their Solar Victoria QR code ready for scanning.
Every G Gill supplied and installed solar or battery system includes two warranties. Our installation warranty covers workmanship and installation-related issues for 10 years. The product warranty covers hardware such as panels, batteries and inverters, typically 10 to 25 years depending on the product. If you ever need to make a product warranty claim, our team manages it for you, so you only need to contact us and we handle the rest.
Our installers are accredited by Solar Accreditation Australia (SAA), the national body recognised by the Clean Energy Regulator for solar and battery design and installation. They hold valid, unrestricted electrical licences (and where required, electrical contractor or business licences) for the relevant state, and design and install every system in compliance with Australian Standards, obtaining any required building or planning permits.
